How did you get in to photography?
My Father has been a photographer most of my life. He bought my first film as well as digital camera.
Do you travel?
Yes! I am located primarily in the South Central Kentucky area, just outside of Bowling Green. All packages include up to one-hour travel in one direction from the '42141' zip code. Beyond that I charge $50/hour.
What equipment do you use? What do you do if things go wrong?
I use Nikon mirrorless camera bodies and lenses. I have both a Z9 and a Z8 both with a plethora of prime and zoom lenses for every need. I use multiple backup systems including multiple cards in the camera body to multiple external hard drives to store photos.
Are you a member of any professional organizations?
I have been a member of the Professional Photographers of America. I have also been published in various magazines.
What is your payment policy?
I require a 50% retainer at booking which is applied to your final balance. The remainder is due one week prior to your shoot. For commercial photography contracts, payments received more than 30 days past the delivery of your gallery will result in an additional charge of a 25% late fee.
Do you offer videography?
I am partnering with Twisted Hues Media to offer wedding videography services in the near future. Check back regularly for updates!
How do I choose the right photographer for me?
Finding the right photographer for your event can be overwhelming. It can be hard to sort through who has the experience to deliver high-quality images and who just owns a camera. This list is designed to help you find the perfect photographer for you. Use these questions as you interview your prospective photographers. I’ve included answers for Brian Hogan Photography for your convenience.
Style: What is your style? Is it traditional, photojournalistic, true-to- color?
My style varies with what my client is looking for and the light on any given day. Bright and sunny days are hard to shoot and not capture really harsh shadows.
Experience: How long have you been a photographer?
I've been shooting professionally since 2014. From weddings, to seniors, to motorsports.
Venue: Have you shot at this venue/location before? If not, do you have a plan to check it out in advance?
If possible, I always prefer to go in person to the venue prior to the wedding date around the same time to get the best opportunity to mimic the light during the time of the shoot.
Images: How will you deliver my photos? How many photos will I receive?
Photos will be delivered though the Focal website allowing you to view and download your full gallery. Your photos are maintained for at least 6 months. Approximate number of images is also listed with each package.
Hours: How many hours of coverage are included? How much does it cost for additional hours?
Coverage time is listed on each package. Additional hours can be purchased and costs are dependent on the type of package. These are listed as add-ons under each package for your convenience.
Communications: How do you value communication with clients?
Communication is absolutely key. The relationship between the photographer and the client starts the day you book a session. The more we talk and the more I know what you're specifically looking for, the better I can deliver exactly what you're looking for.
Deposit: Do you require a deposit?
There is a 50% non-refundable deposit/retainer fee that is due at time of booking.
Editing Software: What editing software do you use?
I use Adobe Photoshop as well as Adobe Camera Raw and Topaz.
Accreditation: Are you a member of any professional organizations?
I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America.
Former Clients: Would you allow me to speak to any of your former clients to get their thoughts and opinions?
Absolutely.
